Kamigawa Neon Dynasty Arrives February 18th – Preorders Now Availabile

Prerelease Begins February 11th

We’re happy to celebrate the return to in store play with four prerelease events. For $30 (after tax), players will receive a special prerelease pack which includes booster packs, a date-stamped premium promo card and a life counter.

Players will compete in a Swiss Tournament to win additional booster packs. One pack per round win will be awarded. Any player going 3-0 for the tournament will receive a special prize TBA. Attendance is capped at 36 players per event so we have the option of early registration to guarantee your spot.

Build & Battle Events Begin February 12th

Check out the cards before anybody else at one of our Build & Battle tournaments. Players will receive a Build & Battle box including an 1 of 4 stamped promo cards, four booster packs, and a 40 card deck. Players will participate in a casual three round tournament using the new cards. All participants will receive three additional booster packs upon conclusion of the event, just for playing! Build & Battle Boxes are limited, so register for one of our events below:

Play! Pokémon Team Challenge Returns for Season 3!

The Play! Pokémon Team Challenge is a virtual tournament taking place over the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online (PTCGO) in which players will represent their local game store in a four person team. The team will be selected via four qualifier events hosted by The Griffin’s Rest.

Who is eligible?

You are eligible to take part in our qualifier if

  • you are a Masters division player and were born in 2005 or earlier and
  • you are a resident of the state your eligible Play! Store located in.

How do I participate?

Register for any of our four qualifiers via RK9 labs and join our Discord before the first tournament. Players can participate in all four of our qualifiers, with the exception of the first place player from each prior qualifier.

You will also need to download PTCGO and make sure it is linked to your Play! Pokémon account.

Entry into any of these tournaments is free of cost.

Please note, you will only be able to register for Team Challenge Qualifiers with up to three different stores. Once you win a qualifier, you will not be able to compete in any additional (this is to allow each store to form a team with 4 distinct qualifiers).

Tournament Structure

Qualifier tournaments will be played within a single (Masters) division over the appropriate number of swiss rounds, followed by a top cut, as documented in the official tournament rules. The format for these qualifiers will be Standard. The winner of each of the 4 Qualifiers will secure a place in the Store Team.

The team Play-offs will be played over multiple weekends after all qualifiers have run (dates TBA) and will be played as single elimination between stores until a worldwide winner is determined.

1st Place from each qualifier will receive an exclusive Team Challenge Playmat

Booster Pack prizes from the latest set will be made available for the top 4 attendees:

1st Place – 17 Booster Packs

2nd Place – 9 Booster Packs

3rd & 4th Place – 5 Booster Packs

Participants will also receive codes for PTCGO to unlock exclusive deck boxes and sleeves and additional Booster Pack prizes.
